WHAT IS FOOD4KIDS BACKPACK PROGRAM ? No child should go hungry or not have enough nourishment from when they leave school on Friday until they return to school on Monday. Through the efforts of the Oak Forest Rotary, local schools, school administration, counselors and donors we want to ensure our kids are happier, healthier and ready to learn every Monday morning. To accomplish this, volunteers order the snacks, pick them up and deliver them to a local school. The snacks are stored there until we have a packing event where we pack the food into grocery bags and store them. When Friday comes, the school counselors discretely put the snack bags into the students backpack while they are in class.
