Community Blood Drive is a success!
The Rotary Club of Oak Forest's December blood drive entitled the Battle of the Badges was just completed. For the fourth year in a row, the Oak Forest Firemen can claim victory over the Oak Forest Police Department and all to gather much needed blood for the community.
The Rotary Club of Oak Forest has been sponsoring four blood drives a year for more than 20 years. The Club has gathered countless gallons of blood over those 20 years for use by those in need in our community. Our most recent blood drive continues that long legacy.
Oak Forest Rotary Blood drive Chairman and 2010-11 Rotarian of the Year Jim Watson announced that the Saturday 12/10/2011 community blood referred to as the Battle of the Badges was another great success. 41 pints of blood were gathered up from the 34 units of blood Rotary collected in July of this year. For the fourth year in a row, the Oak Forest Fire Department won the Battle of the Badges. Congratulations to our Fireman.
This is another project conducted by Oak Forest Rotary to service our community.
